When we first installed Axis network cameras for our customers in early 2000s we were demonstrating IoT capabilities before IoT became a thing fifteen years later. Since then, so much more has become connectable, from our smart phones and televisions in our personal life to intelligent devices, sensors and MIS in industry.

Continuing to be at the forefront of this technological evolution we are connecting an ever increasing number of devices and systems into the Axis – Milestone ecosystem, which keeps getting smarter as more and more data is combined. This enables much better decision making, whilst much of the operational processes no longer require human involvement at all.

IoT is playing a critical role in how our world is changing. It brings new opportunities (as well as challenges – think cybersecurity) to businesses, industry and the public sector. Take the emerging Smart Cities, which are starting to spring up around the world.
