A Milestone case study showing how the XProtect Corporate open platform video management system improved the security at Sheffield Hallam University to a whole new level.
When Sheffield Hallam University looked at updating its video security system, they decided to build their new system on the open platform Milestone XProtect Corporate video management system. The university phased the move from an existing analogue CCTV system to a new IP-based system with Axis network cameras over a period of time. The system was expanded to over 400 cameras across multiple sites and makes use of Milestone’s License Plate Recognition module for vehicle access control as well as intercoms and fire alarms integrations.
A lot of future plans can now be built on Milestone’s capabilities. The beauty of it is that it’s enabled us to pick and choose the hardware – where previously we’ve had to use vendor-supplied products. So, we’re getting the best of both worlds!
