Today, 10th December 2024, Milestone announced it plans for the integration of the Arcules VSaaS platform into its business. This follows the merger of Milestone and Arcules earlier in the year.
As from January 2025, Milestone will cease the use of the name Milestone Kite and rename its entire VSaaS product portfolio to Milestone Arcules. As such, the name Milestone Kite will disappear. It is a clear strategy from Milestone that builds on the success of the Arcules brand in the cloud VMS space.
Arcules cloud available from NW
Arcules will be available from NW from January 2025 and our existing Milestone Kite customers will automatically transfer to Arcules. This will have minimal consequences and the service will continue undisrupted. Longer term, our customers will have access to a wider VSaaS portfolio and increased flexibility to integrate Arcules into their Milestone XProtect video management system.
What exactly is changing immediately?
From January 2025 the name Milestone Kite will be retired and replaced by Arcules.
Some new features will be immediately available:
- Introduction of a 60 days cloud storage option, in addition to the current 14, 30, and 90 day plans
- Support for 5 megapixel IP cameras recognising a trend towards higher-resolution cameras
What will remain unchanged?
Crucially, the VSaaS functionality remains completely unchanged, ensuring continuity for existing Milestone Kite users whilst the rebranding to Arcules is taking place. We highlight some key aspects you need to know for peace of mind:
- The current legal terms of the Milestone Kite service will not be affected and will automatically be updated to the Arcules brand name
- Kite users can continue to use the Milestone Kite web and mobile apps, undisrupted. Only the branding will update over time, that’s all
- All core functionality and capabilities will remain intact
- There will be minimal to no impact for current Milestone Kite users
The rebranding process will involve minor updates to user interfaces, such as replacing the “Kite” name with “Arcules.” Customers do not need to make any changes to their installations, apps, or integrations. The transition will be seamless, with gradual updates to logos and brand colours throughout 2025.
